Hey there!

I fully admit that I’m that person who sometimes spends hours, like way to much time and energy, trying to find the perfect or best product…y’all for basically ANYTHING. My car, electronics, skin care products, kitchen sponges, Pierce’s toys, bed linens, a coffee mug, and I could keep going. It’s not that I need or want the most luxurious or the most expensive. Oh no! You see, that’s part of the mission– to find the most practical, highest quality yet cost effective, last the longest, best for the environment, has to be multi-purpose, item that I can find. LOL You know, unicorns.

Part of my M.O. is also to minimize. I don’t know about y’all, but when I’m in a cluttered space, my mind is cluttered proportionally. When there are too many tabs open, 2 pages of items on my to-do list, 10 missed calls, baby toys all over the living room, piles of paper on my desk, loads of clothes in the laundry and dirty dishes in the sink, and “oh, look there’s a greasy hand print on the fridge, a half-eaten day old muffin on the coffee table, and a dog toy hanging from the lamp shade”, I’m not getting a dang thing done until something gets done. You know what I mean? (all the mamas just said amen!)

Those consumer trends and ‘less is more’ personality totally hold true for me when it comes not just to what I use for my personal health and enjoyment, my products, tools, and mama lifesavers, but even to what I use in my day to day as a veterinarian.

Truth is too many options makes me less efficient. Too many steps mean I work harder, not smarter. SO, I am constantly working to keep a steady flow of ‘just what I need and not much more’ in my personal and professional life. Says easy, does hard.

Side note: Also by necessity, I’ve gotten way better at trusting my own judgement and making better, quicker decisions without having to put so much brain juice into it – article for another day. Stay tuned!

Now, I am no influencer or affiliate, but over the years, thanks to being a research and analysis junkie with the strict criteria listed above for almost anything I buy, I’ve found some things I wouldn’t want to live without and I for SURE buy over and over again to support me in my day at the clinic.

Plus, when my health and life dramatically changed after the conception and then birth of my son, I wanted (and needed) to make some real changes to my routines. Over the last 3 years, I’ve explored the all-natural skincare world, biohacking and functional medicine, non-toxic home products, changes to my workouts and methods of exercising, and tweaking my diet to name a few things. (One day I’ll do another article on some of those fun categories!) Other things that relate to work and my fur babies were, and still are, tried (through years with personal experience) and true, so I’ve kept those in a steady rotation as long as they fit with my new mission and science hadn’t told me otherwise.

All that said, I’ve whipped up a list of some of my favorite things to share. These are things that if you worked with me in a clinic you’d see on/with me on the daily that support me IN PRACTICE, because I feel like truthfully, you deserve to love and rely on effective, efficient, trustworthy products that support a vibrant and healthy career and life!

I'm a small town country girl who, unlike most in my field, heard the calling to be a veterinarian late in college (through a Physical Therapy seminar!). Regardless of timing, it's obvious that both nature and nurture had set me up to become someone who could care for the natural world.

What I didn't realize, and would learn very quickly, was that without caring for and managing myself first, the calling, identity, and rewards of "veterinarian" wouldn't be worth it.
